Precision tubing for barbecue structures, carts and handles

The technical challenge the barbecue
The finish has to withstand the outdoors
The barbecue is stored outside, gets wet, is exposed to the sun. The exposed parts —structure, cart, handles— carry a finish (chrome, enamel or paint) that protects them and makes them look right. That finish only comes out clean if the starting tubing is free of porosity: a surface with marks in the steel would surface under the treatment and would be the first point where the protection starts to fail.
The cart has to roll
Many barbecues move on wheels. Where there is a wheel, there is an axle; and an axle with an uncalibrated diameter or a pronounced internal weld bead squeaks, jams or wobbles. It is the same principle of precision we apply across the mobility sector.
The shape is part of the product
Curved handles, grill rings, subframes: the barbecue calls for tight bends and profiles the tubing has to take without cracking or ovalising, keeping the surface suitable for finishing.
Applications where you will find us

Barbecue structure and cart
- The frame and the chassis legs, subframe, wheeled cart, cross-rails.
- Bright surface ready for finishing The PREMIUM range leaves the factory with a bright, non-porous outer surface, suitable for direct chrome, zinc, brass plating or painting, with no prior polishing stage.
- Cart rolling Where the cart is fitted with wheels, the OPTIM range provides the axle calibrated to a hundredth of a millimetre, with an internal weld bead ≤ 0.15 mm: the cart rolls smoothly and quietly.
- Thin walls with strength A structure that bears the weight of the assembly without excess weight, with the formability to bend the subframe without cracking or ovalisation.

Handles, grips and exposed elements
- Direct finish Chrome, zinc, brass plating or paint on the as-supplied bright surface, with no prior polishing.
- Tight bending The formability of the tubing allows the characteristic curved handle without compromising the surface or the section.
- Non-circular profiles Square, oval or flat oval section to EN 10305-5, when the handle design calls for it.

Grills and rings
- The grill is an area of high-temperature food contact, and high-end barbecues make it in stainless steel, a material Delmàs does not produce. Delmàs can supply carbon steel tubing for grill rings and structures with a finish (for example enamelled or chrome-plated), but it must be confirmed precisely what it actually supplies for this area, and not imply food suitability or stainless steel without evidence. Until it is confirmed, this section stays cautious and focused on rings and supports, not on the direct cooking surface.

Not just the tubing: the finished part
- Bright surface ready for finishingThe PREMIUM range eliminates the polishing stage before electroplating or painting, along with its cost and its risk of batch-to-batch inconsistency.
- Tubing transformed into a component ready to assembleWhen the customer needs it, we do not deliver tubing: we deliver the finished part. Cutting, bending, punching, end forming, threading and surface finishing —to drawing— so that the handle or subframe arrives ready to assemble. One manufacturer instead of several suppliers.
- Coil format or cut-to-length, to elimiCoil format or cut-to-length, to eliminate end-of-bar scrap on automated lines.
Why barbecue manufacturers trust Delmàs
A family-owned business in La Roca del Vallès, specialising exclusively in small-diameter welded and calibrated steel tubing (⌀ 3–25 mm).
The handle bound for direct chrome and the cart axle that rolls quietly come from the same plant.
The exact diameter the design calls for, without being tied to a standard catalogue.
Manufacturing powered 100% by renewable energy since 2006, with two photovoltaic self-consumption installations at the plant.
Questions we hear every week
Does the tubing arrive ready for chrome plating or painting?
Yes. The PREMIUM range is manufactured with a bright, non-porous outer surface, suitable for direct chrome, zinc, brass plating or painting, with no prior polishing stage.
Do you manufacture the axle for the barbecue cart wheels?
Yes. The OPTIM range provides the axle calibrated to a hundredth of a millimetre with an internal weld bead ≤ 0.15 mm, so the cart rolls smoothly and quietly.
Do you manufacture stainless steel tubing for grills?
No. Delmàs manufactures in carbon steel. For exposed parts with an electroplated or painted finish we are a very competitive option; if your application requires stainless steel, it is not our material.
Can you manufacture the curved handle as a finished part?
Yes. As well as the tubing, we transform the tubing into a finished component ready to assemble: cut, bent, punched and with the surface ready for finishing.
