An industrial shutter, an automatic door or a communal garage closure work all day, every day. The shaft they turn on, the rollers they run on, cannot develop play or friction with use: every cycle counts, and failure means a blocked access point.
Security depends on precision
In a lock cylinder, the fit between parts determines whether the cylinder turns securely or can be forced. In a panic mechanism, the precision of the components determines whether the bar releases the latch first time. A failure of tolerance is, here, a failure of security.
The outdoors punishes the closure
Fencing, perimeter closures and garage closures live outdoors: rain, sun, salt. The finish (galvanising, paint) protects the assembly, and only comes out correct if the starting tubing is free of porosity.
The scale is industrial
The manufacturer of locking systems produces in volume and needs batch-to-batch consistency: that mechanism number 100,000 assembles and works just like the first.

Closures, shutters and industrial doors
- Winding and rotation shafts The tubing acts as the shaft the shutter winds on or the mechanism turns on. With the OPTIM range we control outer diameter, bore and wall thickness simultaneously, with an internal weld bead ≤ 0.15 mm: the shaft works with no play and no parasitic friction, cycle after cycle.
- Rollers and guides The door or shutter runs on rollers that travel along the rail. The calibrated shaft does not squeak or drift under continuous use.
- Batch-to-batch consistency, for the systems manufacturer's series production.
Panic doors
- Precision in the release mechanism The tubular component of the mechanism has to work to the exact tolerance so the bar releases the latch reliably. The OPTIM range provides that dimensional control.
- Exposed push bar When the bar is on show, the PREMIUM range provides the bright outer surface for finishing.
Lock cylinders and security cylinders
- Diameter calibrated to a hundredth of a millimetre In a security cylinder, the fit between parts determines the reliability and the resistance to tampering. We control the diameter with the precision the mechanism demands.
- Controlled internal weld bead So the bore is left clear and the elements of the mechanism seat and slide without obstruction.
- Very small diameters, in the range where the market for calibrated tubing all but disappears.
Fencing and closures
- Structure with an outdoor finish The PREMIUM range provides the bright outer surface for galvanising or paint, which protects the closure outdoors.
- Thin walls with strength, with the formability to bend without cracking or ovalisation.
- Non-circular profiles Square, oval or flat oval section to EN 10305-5, when the closure design calls for it.
- Scope note heavy, large-diameter fence posts and structures (> 25 mm) are outside Delmàs's range (⌀ 3–25 mm). This application centres on small- and medium-diameter closure elements (frames, mesh, gate mechanisms, decorative elements), not on the heavy structural post.

Questions we hear every week
Why does an industrial shutter jam or tip with use?
Usually because of play in the shaft or the rollers. If the tubing acting as the shaft retains a pronounced internal weld bead, or the diameter is not calibrated, play and friction appear. The OPTIM range keeps the internal weld bead at ≤ 0.15 mm and calibrates the diameter to a hundredth of a millimetre.
Do you manufacture the panic device?
No. We manufacture the precision tubing for the components of the mechanism. The complete panic device is a regulated safety product (EN 1125 / EN 179) certified by its manufacturer; we provide the calibrated tubing those components need.
Do you manufacture the tubing for security lock-cylinder components?
We manufacture small-diameter calibrated tubing with the dimensional control a security cylinder demands. Tell us the exact component and its function and we will propose the right size and range.
Do you manufacture tubing for fencing?
Yes, for small- and medium-diameter closure elements (frames, mesh, gate mechanisms). Heavy, large-diameter structural posts (> 25 mm) are outside our range.
Does the tubing arrive ready to galvanise or paint?
Yes. The PREMIUM range is manufactured with a bright, non-porous outer surface, suitable for direct galvanising, painting, chrome or zinc plating, with no prior polishing stage.
