The tube arrives and goes into the chrome bath. No polishing, no preparation and no rejects.
The quality of the galvanic finish depends on the base tube surface — not the bath, not the chrome plating process: the tube. A pore, a rolling mark or a minimal irregularity that is invisible on the raw tube becomes, under the chrome layer, a perfectly visible defect that ruins the product. PREMIUM range solves this problem at source: the tube leaves the factory with the surface ready for treatment.
When steel is going to receive a galvanic finish — chrome, zinc, brass or nickel plating — the base tube surface is the first stage of the quality chain. The galvanic bath does not correct, fill or smooth: it amplifies. A minimal porosity in the base tube becomes a visible mark under the chrome layer. A rolling mark that looks like a fine line to the naked eye becomes a perfectly visible mark in the final finish.
The standard industrial process to address it is grinding and polishing before the bath. A full production step: machine time, labour, consumables, roughness and uniformity control, and an additional source of rejects if polishing is not consistent batch to batch. A cost paid on every part, on every order, on every year of production.
PREMIUM range eliminates that step. Rigorous outer diameter control and the precision rolling process produce a bright, pore-free surface within the tube manufacturing process itself. The tube arrives at your warehouse ready to go directly into the bath. No polishing. No preparation.
And if the design needs an exact diameter the standard catalogue does not have — 8.25 mm instead of 8.00 mm, or a 1.15 mm wall instead of the nominal — we manufacture it to the tenth. The design leads. Each client's specific application or process requirements are our production benchmark for each one. Not the catalogue.
Why standard tube ruins the galvanic finish: The chrome bath amplifies what the tube does not resolve
The galvanic process works on the surface exactly as it is. A minimal porosity can become a visible mark of several tenths of a millimetre under the chrome layer. Gases trapped in the steel pores generate bubbles during the electrolytic process that remain as imperfections in the finish. In sectors such as designer furniture, premium lighting or vehicle interior components, tolerance for visual imperfections is zero.
Without PREMIUM range — with standard tubing
- Tube arrives with dull surface and variable porosity between batches
- Prior polishing process required before the galvanic bath
- Polishing adds cost, time and uniformity risk
- Remaining imperfections are amplified in the chrome bath
- High and unpredictable visual reject rate
- Your design needs 8.25 mm. The market has 8.00 mm. Your design adapts to the market.
With Delmàs PREMIUM range
- Tube arrives with bright, pore-free surface straight from the factory
- Goes directly into the chrome, zinc, brass or other treatment bath
- Completely eliminates the polishing step and its associated cost
- Zero visual rejects from base tubing surface imperfections
- Reduction in cycle time and total process cost
- Your design needs 8.25 mm. We manufacture 8.25 mm. The market adapts to your design.
PREMIUM range: bright surface and exact diameter from the mill
PREMIUM range precisely controls the tube outer diameter and guarantees a bright, clean, pore-free outer surface. This is not a subsequent treatment — it is the surface that comes out of the manufacturing process itself. Available in the exact diameters the application requires, including non-standard sizes to the tenth.

Where it is applied: all products where the tube is a visible part
PREMIUM range is present in all sectors where the steel tube is going to receive a galvanic finish or where the outer surface is part of the final product's aesthetics. In all of them, the bright surface from the mill is the differentiator that eliminates prior polishing and guarantees the finish.
Designer lamp arms, premium kitchen fittings and chrome-finish furniture elements arrive at the galvanic bath and any porosity in the base tube surface becomes a reject. Prior polishing cost is an assumed constant that nobody has questioned.
Vehicle interior components with chrome finish — headrest guides, sun visors (Antolin), sunroof, seat mechanisms (Lear, Magna) — are manufactured on automated lines with coil supply. Surface variability in standard tube generates process mismatches.
Closure systems, high-security door mechanisms and precision machinery use tube with outer finish as part of the guide and sliding elements. The OD dimensional fit is as critical as the surface finish.
We manufacture the finished component with bright surface — ready to go directly into the bath
At Delmàs we do not only deliver the tube. As manufacturers with our own transformation capability, we can deliver the finished component with bright surface: cut to the exact length, bent with controlled radius, with machined ends — ready for the client to place directly into the galvanic bath with no intermediate operation.
The result is that the client receives a transformed part with a perfect surface, eliminating both the polishing process and the transformation operations at their own plant. One single manufacturer controls the entire process.
We manufacture non-round profiles — square, rectangular or oval — maintaining the same bright surface control that defines PREMIUM range.
Screen printing, engravings, textures or matt finish integrated directly into the manufacturing process. The decoration comes from the tube, not a subsequent process.
Exact-length cutting, controlled-radius bending, punching and end tapering — with bright surface intact throughout the process.
The client sends the drawing. Delmàs manufactures, transforms and delivers the finished component with bright surface, ready for the galvanic bath. Zero intermediaries.
