Precision tubing for handles, towel rails, bars and drawer guides

In the kitchen and bathroom, the steel tubing does two jobs at once: it is the chrome-plated part seen and touched every day, and it is the guide that lets a drawer open without noise or play. We manufacture the tubing for both: a bright surface ready to chrome and a calibrated diameter for smooth sliding.

The technical challenge of the kitchen and bathroom

01

The finish is touched, not just looked at

A handle, a towel rail, a pull-out bar: these are parts the user grips every day and judges close up. Chrome plating with the porosity of the steel showing through the plating bath does not communicate quality: it communicates neglect, and in high-end hardware that is a return. In kitchen and bathroom, the finish of the metal is part of the product.

02

The drawer has to slide smoothly and quietly

A drawer guide is a precision mechanism: two elements sliding over one another. If the tubing acting as the guide is not calibrated or retains a pronounced internal weld bead, play appears, the drawer jams, tips or makes noise. In a kitchen, that drawer that "feels stiff" is the first thing the user notices.

03

The bathroom is a humid, aggressive environment

Steam, water, cleaning products every day. The finish has to hold up, and the base tubing has to take the electroplating that protects it. A surface imperfection is not just cosmetic: it is the point where the protection starts to fail.

Handles and hardware

The exposed hardware of kitchen and furniture: handles, tubular knobs, grab bars, support and holding rods.
  • Bright surface ready for the plating bath The PREMIUM range leaves the factory with a bright, non-porous outer surface: from the warehouse to the chrome, zinc or brass bath with no prior polishing stage. The hardware manufacturer eliminates a whole process and the visual rejects that come with it.
  • Non-circular profiles Square, oval or flat oval section to EN 10305-5, when the handle design calls for it.
  • Finished part When the customer needs it, the handle arrives cut, bent and threaded, ready to chrome and assemble.

Towel rails and chrome-plated accessories

Towel rails and towel bars, roll holders, shower and screen bars, bathroom supports and accessories.
  • Direct chrome, zinc and brass plating The tubing behaves consistently across all three treatments, so a single family of accessories can vary its finish without changing base material.
  • Less coating, same result A cleaner, brighter starting surface allows a correct electroplated finish with less deposited material: lower bath cost for the same final appearance.
  • Screen printing and decorative finishes, when the accessory needs branding or range differentiation.

Bars and drawer guides; kitchen and wardrobe

  • Play-free sliding With the OPTIM range we control outer diameter, bore and wall thickness simultaneously, with an internal weld bead ≤ 0.15 mm: the guide slides smoothly, with no play, no tipping and no noise, across thousands of openings.
  • Batch-to-batch consistency The manufacturer assembles in series: if the tolerance drifts between batches, some guides run stiff and others loose. The diameter calibrated to a hundredth of a millimetre ensures that guide number 100,000 slides just like the first.
  • Thin walls with strength Bars and rods that bear loads without excess weight, with the formability for tight bends without cracking or ovalisation.
  • Thin walls with strength Barras y varillas que aguantan carga sin sobrepeso, con maleabilidad para curvado cerrado sin fisura ni ovalización.

Mate straws; drinking straw

  • The metal straw through which mate is drunk A small-diameter, exposed tube that receives an electroplated finish and takes decoration.
  • Bright, decorable surface The PREMIUM range provides the ideal starting surface for chrome or nickel plating of the straw, and allows spiral lines, textures or decorative marks to be incorporated during manufacture —a differentiating element in a product where looks sell.
  • Very small diameters The gauge of a mate straw falls in the range where the market for calibrated tubing all but disappears, and where Delmàs has been working for decades.
  • The mate straw is a food-contactproduct, and the high-end ones are made of stainless steel, a material Delmàs does not manufacture. It must be confirmed exactly what Delmàs supplies for this application (carbon steel tubing for chrome/nickel-plated straws) and not imply food suitability or stainless steel that cannot be demonstrated.

8,00 mm8,25 mm
The market standard offers 8.00 mm. If your drawer guide slides better at 8.25 mm, we manufacture 8.25 mm. We are a manufacturer, not a distributor working from a closed catalogue. We do not standardise: we start from the customer's drawing and adjust outer diameter, inner diameter and wall thickness to a hundredth of a millimetre. In hardware that is seen and a guide that slides, that hundredth is the difference between a product that feels like quality and one that does not.

Not just the tubing: the finished part

  • From the warehouse to the chrome bath,From the warehouse to the chrome bath, with no step in between. The as-supplied bright surface of the PREMIUM range eliminates the polishing stage before electroplating, along with its cost, its time and its risk of batch-to-batch inconsistency.
  • Tubing transformed into a component ready to assembleWhen the customer needs it, we do not deliver tubing: we deliver the finished part. Cutting, bending, punching, end forming, threading, machining and surface finishing —to drawing— so that the handle or accessory arrives ready to chrome and assemble. One manufacturer instead of several suppliers.

Why hardware manufacturers trust Delmàs

Since 1956

A family-owned business in La Roca del Vallès, specialising exclusively in small-diameter welded and calibrated steel tubing (⌀ 3–25 mm).

Finish and sliding from the same supplier

The handle bound for direct chrome and the guide that slides without play come from the same plant: one technical contact, not two.

The finish resolved at source

The bright surface of the PREMIUM range goes straight to the plating bath: zero visual rejects from imperfections in the base tubing, zero cost of prior polishing.

Manufacturing powered 100% by rene

Manufacturing powered 100% by renewable energy since 2006, with two photovoltaic self-consumption installations at the plant.

Questions we hear every week

Does the tubing arrive ready for chrome plating?

Yes. The PREMIUM range is manufactured with a bright, non-porous outer surface, suitable for direct chrome, zinc or brass plating, with no prior polishing stage. It goes from the warehouse to the plating bath with no step in between.

Why does a drawer guide jam or tip?

Almost always because of play or a pronounced internal weld bead in the guide tubing. The OPTIM range keeps the internal weld bead at ≤ 0.15 mm and calibrates the diameter to a hundredth of a millimetre, so the guide slides smoothly and without play across thousands of openings.

Do you manufacture non-standard sizes for hardware?

Yes, that is our speciality. We do not standardise: if your handle or guide needs 6.2 mm or 8.25 mm, we manufacture that size, controlled to a hundredth of a millimetre.

Do you deliver the finished handle or accessory, or just the tubing?

Both. As well as tubing in coil or cut to length, we transform the tubing into a finished component ready to assemble: cut, bent, punched, threaded and with the surface ready for the plating bath.

Do you manufacture the tubing for mate straws?

We work small diameters with the bright surface a mate straw needs for its finish, and we can incorporate decoration during manufacture. Tell us your application and the intended finish and we will propose the exact solution.

Send us the drawing

Does your chrome plating bring out the imperfections in the steel, or do your drawer guides not slide the same between batches? Send us the drawing. Our technical team assesses the application and prepares a physical sample so you can check the surface finish and the sliding on your own line, before committing to a production run.
