The finish is judged from all sides
A design piece is looked at close up and from every angle, under direct light. The chrome-plated tubing is the star part: a porosity in the steel that surfaces after the plating bath, a rolling mark, a haze, and the whole part is rejected. In high-end furniture, the finish of the metal does not accompany the product: it is the product.
The joint has to be invisible and precise
A modular shelving system is an assembly of tubes and connectors repeated dozens of times. If the outer diameter of the tubing is not calibrated, the connector sits loose or does not fit, and in a modular system that error is multiplied at every joint. The dimensional precision of the tubing is what makes the system fit the same way every time.
Light and rigid at the same time
Modern furniture calls for slim profiles and clean lines, but a chair or a shelving unit has to bear real loads for years. The answer is not more wall thickness: it is exactly the right wall thickness, with the right strength and the formability to bend without cracking.

Chrome-plated tubular structures
- Bright surface ready for the plating bath The PREMIUM range leaves the factory with a bright, non-porous outer surface: from the warehouse to the chrome bath with no prior polishing stage. The furniture manufacturer eliminates a whole process and the visual rejects that come with it.
- Bending without compromising the finish Thin walls with the formability for tight bends —a chair structure, a subframe— without cracking or ovalisation, keeping the surface to be chromed intact.
- Non-circular profiles Square, oval or flat oval section to EN 10305-5, when the visual language of the piece calls for it.
Chair legs and arms
- A single line, with no defects The continuous arm or leg of a design chair reads as a single flowing piece. The as-supplied bright surface ensures the chrome plating comes out clean along the whole run, with no points where the steel shows through.
- Strength without excess weight Thin walls with the formability needed for the characteristic bend of the cantilever chair, keeping the structural rigidity that withstands real use.
- Batch-to-batch repeatability The manufacturer produces in series: the diameter calibrated to a hundredth of a millimetre ensures that every leg bends the same and every structure fits the same.
Modular shelving
- Outer diameter calibrated for the connector In a modular system, the tubing joins to nodes or connectors repeated throughout the structure. An outer diameter out of tolerance makes the connector sit loose or fail to fit. We control the outer diameter to a hundredth of a millimetre so that the fit is always identical.
- Uniform chrome finish Every upright in a system shares the same as-supplied bright finish: no variation in appearance between parts, no rejects for inconsistency.
- Precision joints When the joint requires control of the bore (passage of a pin, seating of an insert), the OPTIM range provides an internal weld bead ≤ 0.15 mm.

Does the tubing arrive ready for chrome plating?
Yes. The PREMIUM range is manufactured with a bright, non-porous outer surface, suitable for direct chrome, zinc or brass plating, with no prior polishing stage. It goes from the warehouse to the plating bath with no step in between.
Up to what diameter do you manufacture chrome-platable tubing for furniture?
The bright surface for direct chrome plating (PREMIUM range) goes up to ⌀ 13 mm. Above that size we offer the PRECISE range, geared to the bore finish, but not to the bright outer finish for chrome plating. Tell us the diameter of your structure and we will confirm whether it fits our range.
Can you guarantee the connector of a modular shelving system always fits?
Yes. We control the outer diameter to a hundredth of a millimetre, so the joint between tubing and connector is identical throughout the structure, with no loose parts or joints that will not fit.
Do you manufacture non-standard sizes for furniture?
Yes, that is our speciality. We do not standardise: if your design needs 6.2 mm or 8.25 mm, we manufacture that size, controlled to a hundredth of a millimetre.
Do you deliver the finished structure or just the tubing?
Both. As well as tubing in coil or cut to length, we transform the tubing into a finished component ready to assemble: cut, bent, punched, threaded and with the surface ready for the plating bath.
