Precision tubing for trucks: cooling, fluids and cab finishing

The technical challenge of the commercial vehicle
Reliability is measured in kilometres, not years
A truck racks up in a year what a car does in several. The tubular component —a cooling circuit, a fluid line— cannot fail: a leak on the road is a stopped vehicle, a delayed load and a cost that spirals. Batch-to-batch consistency and sealing are not an extra: they are the requirement.
Homologation and traceability as a contractual requirement
As with the passenger car, the commercial vehicle manufacturer requires product certification, material traceability and conformity with EN 10305, ASTM 513 and SAE with every delivery.
The cost of seamless tubing, multiplied by volume
Large-engine cooling circuits have used seamless tubing out of habit. On a commercial vehicle, with larger engines and more metres of circuit, that 40–80% seamless premium weighs even more heavily on the total.
The cab is seen and touched
The cab is the driver's workplace: the exposed elements —handles, structures, finishes— are handled daily and judged close up. The exposed tubing needs a finish that lasts and looks right.
Applications where you will find us

Cooling circuits
- Alternative to seamless tubing The PRECISE range offers a mirror-finish bore to EN 10305-2 that meets the sealing requirements of a low-pressure circuit, at 40% to 80% lower cost than seamless. On a truck, with more metres of circuit than a car, that saving is multiplied.
- Clean bore for flow No roughness or beads to disturb the passage of the coolant or trap particles.
- Predictable availability Against the uncertain lead times of seamless, reliable planning so production is not held up.

Fluid conveyance
- Certified sealing at lower cost Delmàs's precision welded tubing meets the sealing requirements of a low-pressure circuit at a fraction of the cost of extruded tubing.
- Certification with every delivery EN 10204-2.2 or 3.1 depending on what the manufacturer's quality system requires.
- Diameter and wall thickness made to measure, adjusted to the flow rate and pressure of each circuit.

Cab finishing
- Bright surface ready for finishing The PREMIUM range leaves the factory with a bright, non-porous outer surface, suitable for direct chrome, zinc, brass plating or painting, with no prior polishing stage.
- Resistance to daily use The cab is an intensive working environment; the finish has to withstand constant handling.
- Non-circular profiles Square, oval or flat oval section to EN 10305-5, when the cab design calls for it.
The right range for Trucks

Cooling circuits, fluid conduction and gas springs. Mirror bore. An alternative to seamless at 40% to 80% lower cost

Cab finishing and exposed parts. Bright outer surface for electroplating or direct painting

Mechanisms, guides and shafts of the cab and the access points. Internal weld bead ≤ 0.15 mm, simultaneous control of bore and outer diameter
Supply and service
- Coil supplythe line does not stop and there is no end-of-bar scrap. Continuous coil feed eliminates stoppages for bar changes and end-of-bar scrap, which at automotive volumes amount to 10% to 15% of the material.
- Homologation and traceability with every deliveryCertificate EN 10204-2.2 (declaration of conformity with non-specific inspection results) or EN 10204-3.1 (inspection certificate with specific results for the batch supplied), conformity with EN 10305 / ASTM 513 / SAE, depending on what the manufacturer's quality system requires. In-house laboratory at the plant.
- Tubing transformed into a component ready to assembleWhen the customer needs it, we deliver the finished part —cut, bent, punched, end formed, machined— ready for the assembly line.
Why commercial vehicle manufacturers trust Delmàs
A family-owned business in La Roca del Vallès, specialising exclusively in small-diameter welded and calibrated steel tubing (⌀ 3–25 mm).
On a vehicle with more metres of circuit, replacing seamless tubing with the PRECISE range multiplies the saving.
Coil supply reduces the total process cost by 10% to 15% compared with tubing in bar form.
Manufacturing powered 100% by renewable energy since 2006, with two photovoltaic self-consumption installations. More and more manufacturers require this for their own carbon footprint reporting.
Questions we hear every week
Can you replace seamless tubing in a truck cooling circuit?
Yes. The PRECISE range offers a mirror-finish bore to EN 10305-2 that meets the sealing requirements of a low-pressure circuit, at 40% to 80% lower cost than seamless. On a commercial vehicle, with more metres of circuit, the saving is even greater.
Do you supply in coil for an automated line?
Yes. Coil supply is the standard format: continuous feed with no stoppages for bar changes and no end-of-bar scrap, reducing the total process cost by 10% to 15%.
Do you provide product certification and traceability?
Yes, with every delivery. We issue an EN 10204-2.2 or 3.1 certificate, with conformity to EN 10305, ASTM 513 and SAE, depending on what the manufacturer's quality system requires.
Does the cab tubing arrive ready for chrome plating or painting?
Yes. The PREMIUM range is manufactured with a bright, non-porous outer surface, suitable for direct chrome, zinc, brass plating or painting, with no prior polishing stage.
Do you manufacture non-standard sizes?
Yes, that is our speciality. If your circuit or mechanism needs 6.2 mm or 8.25 mm, we manufacture that size, controlled to a hundredth of a millimetre.
